Last year, the Clarke County Planning Commission's Comprehensive Plan Committee held four interactive public input meetings throughout the County to get feedback on the Rural Lands Plan -- a new land use plan to provide guidance for future decision-making in our county's rural areas.  The Committee has completed its work and the Planning Commission now seeks public input on the initial plan draft.  Two interactive public input meetings have been scheduled.

BRMCA Fall Road Cleanup and Potluck Recap:

09/29/23 - Thanks to everyone who braved the rainy day and came to the BRMCA potluck brunch. A big thank you to Maral Kalbian for her wonderful discussion on two of her published books. Congratulations to the Laney family for not only guessing how many candy corns were in the jar, but for also winning the Virginia trivia game. They won the jar of candy and a gift card. Those who volunteered to help set up and clean up were also greatly appreciated; Judy Whitehouse, Andrew and Kristen Marusich, Kevin and Lori Dehart, Carol Weare, Stephanie and John Greer and Scott Andrae.

Finally, a big shout out to everyone who helped with the road cleanup. The weather was yucky, so we did not fill as many bags as usual, but the few bags we did fill made a huge difference in the landscape of our beautiful mountain. Thank you to the Seebergers, Lori DeHart, Carol Weare, the Greers and Judy Whitehouse, just to name a few.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you at 7:00 pm on October 3rd for our general meeting at Bears Den. Guest speakers will include Connor Goolsby from the Virginia Department of Forestry, Loudoun County Broadband Project Manager Chris Mullen and Maura Walsh - Copeland from the Loudoun County Preservation and Conservation Coalition.

BRMCA Spring Road Cleanup and Potluck Recap:

05/05/23 - Rain held off for the BRMCA road cleanup and appetites were plentiful for the spring potluck brunch afterwards. The mood was set by the soulful voice of local musician Zac Townsend.

On the menu: breakfast casseroles, au gratin potatoes, bacon, cinnamon rolls, sweet cakes, fruit salad, and much more. It was all delicious. We had a great turnout and everyone commented on how nice it was to get together with their neighbors.

A special thanks to Judy Whitehouse, Kim Larson, the Oldham family, the Laney family, Carol Weare, the Seebergers and everyone who helped with set up/clean up. The BRMCA Board appreciates our member's support!
